In 2014 a Diggers Dinner took place at as a part of a program entitled THE COMMONS at a public university in Hawai’i. It was preceded by 9 days of demonstrations + performances centered around self-sufficiency. Examples included how to sharpen knives, clean fish, make chopsticks, simultaneous demonstrations on making kimchee and sauerkraut… The Diggers Dinner was culminating event that was open to all. All leftovers were freely distributed the next day. (see video)
